By the beard of Zeus! You are the devil!

FerrellSaw Anchorman: The legend of.. the other week and as a devoted Will Ferrell (right) fan I found it good. Not his best work, mind. But it was a good two hours of laughs and the like and that’s what counts.

Anyways, I’m really tired at the minute, for once (!) But then again that’s not that surprising considering I work at stupid o’clock in the morning. Speaking of work. Things are exciting at the minute, roll out of EPoS (apparently in November) and all the prospects but it’s starting to get a bit down. Things just aren’t moving:

  • I haven’t had a pay rise yet, despite that being one of the reasons I made the move to Notts to take this job. One of the weekend Senior Sales assistants is on more than me. Which, granted, is because he was given the rise before the current manager was there and so you can’t really take it away from him, but I don’t see why he gets to earn an extra 50p/hour more than me. That’s nearly £80 a month extra that I could be getting.
  • Things in general are moving so slow with so many obstacles and no one seems to be hurrying them along. Our new stockroom still hasn’t materialised and to be honest I would be chasing it up much harder than currently is being done. It’s bull shit that there is no space there is a stock room downstairs that has been empty for about six months! CCTV was scheduled to be installed in August, it’s now nearly October and CT still wont let us install it, possibly due to the wall being listed etc. or whatever, but if it was me I’d be writing a letter daily/weekly to CT top brass, or NR, or whoever it is and bugging them until they do something about it!
  • Cleaning, lack of it. We have the floor cleaned once a month!! Once a month for a shop that has thousands of people pass through it daily. The floor was really nice, now it’s cracked and messy. Don’t even start me on the fixtures! Firstly for some odd reason we had the high street ultra white fittings, which a) go rusty and b) get really dirty. The majority of our shops had the nice shiny silver / birch (?) fittings which look really stylish, but oh no not us! Anyways, it would look fairly decent if it had been cleaned once in a blue moon. Which it obviously hasn’t. No one seems to care that it all looks shit, either. Guess first impressions just don’t count these days.
  • I’m sure I’ve got other such quibbles about it, but at the minute I can’t be arsed!

We’re two staff down, Ben is back tommorow from paternity leave and now Pete has had to have time off as his grandma has died so it’s no staff all the time. *sigh*

Oh, and the best thing, the weekend team leaders (of which I am one) has had a complaint lodged against them by a member of staff for picking on him. It’s got nothing to do with the fact that we have to actually keep telling him what he has to do as he is the laziest person around who back chats and just can’t do the job properly. No obviously not.

flagHowever, myself and Charlotte will hopefully be off to France for a late weekend at the start of next week for a few days as I have the week off. We’ll also be going to the Bowling for Soup concert on the “A Hangover you don’t deserve” tour. By the way, that’s an excellent album so many great songs all put together on a great CD.

    So, see you whenever.

Gah, so lonely lately - really itching to leave England.
    B
