’cause I don’t want to drag you down, hold you down.. because you’re a friend
So, it’s been a long and odd couple of weeks. The guy to the right is Ronnie Ronalde who’s album “The Magic of…” I’ve just bought after looking round Notts. CD shops. It’s for my Grandad Colebourne’s funeral which is on friday and my Mum was unable to find it. Yeh, so he died last weekend. It was expected though as he’d been ill in hosipital for quite some time and before that at home. Still… it’s not nice. I saw him a few days before and it was terrible, he looked nothing like the round laughing guy he was before and had no memory.. I think it was one of the saddest things I’ve ever seen. The setting didn’t make it any better, literally a ward where people were waiting to die.. the smell was awful and it just generally creeped you out.
I’ve got the afternoon off as compasionate leave for the funeral so that is where I will be on Friday.
The home situation, still no better.. It’s been sort of eased by the fact Alex + Shell are now looking for their own place which is totally understandable and a relief in a way as I’ve not got to dump them in it at the last minute. So now my options are:
- Find a small flat in Nottinghamshire for around the same rent as I’m paying now and continute slowly dragging myself out of the hole I put myself in.
- Move back to my parents and live in the conservatory for a brief period saving money and then returning to a flat in a few months.
- Do as above but at my Nan’s (not asked yet!) which is nearer to Notts (north side of Leicester)
So… who knows..
Excellent news is that I’m being nominated by my Area Manager to be placed on the UK retail MDP (Management Development Pool) with the hope to be deployed to my own store within 6 - 12 months as and when that comes up. So, things are looking up career wise although it means I could end up anywhere between Coventry and Newcastle… shame Paris isn’t in the Central Area!
