And suddenly I become a part of your past

songbirdI’m becoming the part that don’t last
I’m losing you and its effortless

So… again, I’m late with the five songs that I’m meant to recommend on a Friday. Blame it on the timezone. I’ve not actually been listening to a lot of music this week as I’ve mainly been indulging myself back into the world of IPTV after not watching them for a few months because… actually I’m not sure there was a reason, I think I’d just not been watching my RSS feeds as much as I should. Anyways, more on my video watching habits in another post where I’ll recommend some excellent choices (!)

Hinder - Lips of an angel
And, yes, I’ve dreamt of you too
And does he know you’re talking to me
Will it start a fight
No I don’t think she has a clue

A bit of a Nickelback/Saliva kind of song. Cheesy, radio friendly rock. But I quite like it. I like the thought of it happening to me anyways. It’s a good song. I think it’s playing a lot in America at the moment as it seems to be on a lot of the Shoutcast stations that I listen to.

The Zutons - You’ve got a friend in me
You’ve got a friend in me, darlin’
You’ve got a friend in me
Cos when I looked at your face, I’ve seen a wonderful place

Now, normally I’m not a huge fan of the Zutons as living in their home town means they are played at least twice on the radio station I’m forced to listen to whilst with my work colleagues. But this song I’d not heard before and I really like it. Also Abi, the woman who I just thought was a token “girl in the band to appeal to males” actually does some singing on this track and I hate to admit that she’s got quite a nice voice.

The Feeling - Helicopter
My pianos out of tune
I wish it wasn’t
I wish that you were mine
I wish that my heart was stronger

I love this song. Possibly my favourite off of the album “Twelve stops and home.” Hell, credit to anyone who can sing about a helicopter and an ocean liner all in one song. And wouldn’t life be better with a helicopter? Hell yeh!

The Supernaturals - Sheffield Song (I love her more than you)
Oh, you always sing when you’re taking a bath,
But not as much as she sung when she was reading a map,
And I was driving

Another song that is impossible to find lyrics to on the Internet, or even find a download of it. In fact the only place I found it was on the 3MusicStore via my phone. Song is fantastic. 90’s Britpop about a guy who just can’t get over his ex.

The All American Rejects - Happy Endings
One- more thing before I go
Two- the one who loves me so
Three- don’t make me count to three again

I love this song. It’s an old one. But I heard some AAR stuff on the radio again recently (they’ve done the song with the postsecret cards in the vid) and seem to of gained a fair bit of popularity so it sent me on a nostalgic re-listen. Watch the Time Stands Still video, too.

Not feeling so bad today.
