Okay, so I’m very late on getting these five hand picked songs out to you. It’s Tuesday morning (only just) so probably the latest I’ve done it. But I’ve had work and other stuff to really tie my weekend up so if you want a refund go to the ticket desk and fill out a form.

Anyways, on with the songs. Firstly, I apoologise for the non-freshness of them and the fact that there is nothing really “new” here which is mainly due to computer problems (no net access for a large portion of the weekend) and having such a hectic social life (hah!) so it’s mainly stuff i’ve heard over the past few months and not mentioned or it’s stuff from Radio 1 as that’s what’s been on at work. My take on this would be that this song is about what life is like for those people that constantly worry about everything. But I think in the end you just have to sit back sometimes and let your future play itself out because somethings you just can’t change by worrying. Heard these via last.fm’s fantastic player.

This is the new guy that is always being played on Radio 1, or at least has the past week along with The Fray (bastards!) It has a Beatles-esque feeling to the sound of the track and his voice reminds me a little of Freddie Mercury, not a bad combination I might add.

Apparently tipped to be the next big thing, initially that made me wary, but this song is actually pretty catchy as long as you like people that stretch out their wor-d-d-d-d-s. I have to say the lead singer looks like a pretentious pillock and about 12. Surely he’s not old enough to drink!?

This song is one of them just sing a long in the car jobbies. The video I linked to is one that is done by the excellent Exclamation! Films guys. They make music videos and film/edit them and whack them up on the net. And they look like they have a fucking good time doing it. Top stuff.

Whilst I was looking back through some of the older videos I found this favourite one of mine which I watched a year or so ago when I was living in my cupboard at my Mum’s and realized I’d not recommended any Matchbox Twenty or Rob Thomas, so here you go, two birds one stone. I love his voice and I love this song and video.

So… there you go. It could of been worse, I’ve been subjected to Take That’s “Shine” all week!
