So, I apologise for huge amounts of weeks that I’ve missed without telling you what my favourite songs of the week have been. I’ve really been more worked than I have been in a long time. I’ve also been trying to catch up on sleep when and where that I can and figure out if I actually have a life Incidentally, the answer is a big fat no.

Guster – Keep it Together (Video – Live Video)

The Boston based Guster with a song that was probably most famous from being on the soundtrack to The O.C. I’ve always felt that this song should sorta be an unofficial “song of Lost.” There is no “official” video from what I can find on YouTube hence the one above. However for maximum comedy value there is some awful End of School or something video. They must of got A*’s in their drama class

After downloading, sorry buying, the Fountains of Wayne album Traffic and Weather. I think I can say that, after Someone to Love, this is my favourite track. I’m not entirely sure why, it’s just particularly catchy and almost retro sounding, which is usually plus points. Plus it has piano in it, which as you’ll know means I’ll love it.

Ryan Adams – Rescue Blues (Video)

This was a song that I originally heard and loved on a cover CD that I had off of a random magazine many, many years ago (or maybe like 3) and I lost that CD and never knew what the song was called or even who it was by. And then the wonder that is last.fm just served it up a few weeks ago along with the title and song name. Yay for last.fm. Unfortunately it’s some random pro-American Military video, but there wasn’t an official vid so it will have to do.

Relient K – Be My Escape (Video – Acoustic Video)
And I’ve been housing all this doubt and insecurity and
I’ve been locked inside that house all the while you hold the key
And I’ve been dying to get out and that might be the death of me

I *love* this song. I love both versions of it too. I love the laid back mellow-ness of the acoustic version (a MerDer video ) and yet I love the guitars and faster pace of the original, “proper” version, plus who doesn’t want a video that has the room getting smaller and a cute girl on the pictures, eh? I ask you that! And I’m sure I’m stuck in that rut that I fell into by mistake

Always been my favourite track off of A Hangover you don’t deserve. And when it spouts the truth like “All you need is ice cream and a hug” why wouldn’t it be? Also major points for name checking Ben & Jerry’s. Was never released as a single, hence no video. So I’ve put a link to a video that is purely the essence of YouTube, a place to whore yourself. WHY OH WHY did anyone think we needed to see that video? Although the girl has the interesting attributes of being able to be dog ugly and cute over and over again in under 5 minutes. Yay you!
