Good morning.
I’m in a good mood and I’m not entirely sure why. Maybe it’s because I’ve just fixed my laptop keyboard and can now type properly on my laptop or maybe it’s just because it’s absolutely gorgeous outside. More likely is the fact that I’m 90% certain that I’ll be having at least 1 Shakeaway in the next day or so. Anyways, so whilst I’m in a good mood here are 5 songs that you should listen to, download and love.
Jason Mraz - Wordplay (Video)
but the people write me off
like i’m a one-hit wonder
gotta find another way
to keep from goin under
From the follow up album to “Waiting for my rocket” it’s a tale of what it’s like to be considered a one hit wonder. Although to be honest I’ve like quite a few of his songs but I don’t think any of them have ever gone as mainstream as The Remedy (I wont worry) which was tongue-tied goodness.
A Fine Frenzy - You Picked Me (Video)
like a shell upon a beach
just another pretty piece
I was difficult to see
but you picked me, yeah you picked me
Firstly she is beautiful, secondly this song is beautiful. A Fine Frenzy is the name that Alison Sidul, a 22 year old singer songwriter, uses. I could love this just for the way she says tree, to be honest. She also seems really cute and down to earth in interviews, so yay for softly spoken Piano songs!
Teddy Geiger - These Walls (Video)
For all of the things that I really want
You had me too afraid to ask
And as I look ahead of me
I try and pray for sanity
Teddy Geiger. Firstly, silly name. Secondly, sounds just like Gavin DeGraw. Thirdly, good song. It’s a bit “generic piano rock” but it’s quite nice anyways.
Maximo Park - Apply Some Pressure (Video)
You know that I would love to see you next year,
I hope that I am still alive next year,
You know that I would love to see you in that dress,
I hope that I will live to see you undress.
From a cheap CD I picked up in Tesco’s when I needed *something* to listen to in the car I found this tune. It’s good and I’m also liking the version that Mark Ronson has done with Paul Smith, too. The bit where blood is dripping from his nose eek’s me out, though
The Magic Numbers - I See You, You See Me (Live Video)
This is not what I’m like; this is not what I do.
This is not what I’m like; I think I’m falling for you.
I never thought I could feel this something,
Rising, rising in my veins
Everyone’s favourite four piece brother/sister band from Ealing. This song is beautiful, enough said. Well, maybe I’ll also say I like the girls voice.
Anyways, toodles.
running out of battery…

and maybe the fact that Tian is home soon? That would be my guess
ok, that comment above was me, but I must have been in your window on the laptop by mistake. Thanks for the long visit and all the wheeling around. At least it gave me a good excuse to be lazy! Safe journey home.
