Writers Guild Strike….

I hate strikes. Especially when they inconvenience me. So I’ve got very little sympathy for the writers who are currently striking. If you want more money, fine.. But don’t strike about it. Go see your boss, if he says no, then get over it, find another job. I want more money ’cause I do a shit tonne of work and don’t get paid jack but I can’t just not turn up one day and stand out side the store with a banner…

And, whilst, I agree that they should get paid royalties for their work that is also shown on the Internet and new media technology. I’m just totally against striking. For the main reason, the only people this is going to hurt is the consumer, because we’re not going to be able to see the latest episode of Lost or 24 or whatever.

The networks care about people watching their adverts. People aren’t going to just switch the TV off if there is nothing good on. They’ll watch whatever re-run, reality tv show or crap that the networks put in the place of the hit show that should of been on. So I just don’t buy the whole “this will hurt the networks in the pocket.” But, judging from the people I know that watch TV and myself you tend to just have the TV on whether there’s anything good on or not and if the TV is on you’re subliminally taking in the ads anyways. I could understand if the writer’s from ONE network striked, that way people would then defect from that network and watch something else. But if there is repeats and crap on ALL the networks then the share of people watching each channel (I’d imagine) wouldn’t change drastically.

There’s better ways to get support and get your point across than calling a strike. But then agian, wouldn’t the world be lovely if people just got along anyways?

Anyways… I think Roosterteeth have hit the nail on the head…

So, anyways.. Long week and lots of changes on the way, I’m sure I’ll write about it at some point.

here we go again

Changes. You’ll need stout shoes if you’re going to be doing a lot of walking! And I have them. So you can’t.

OK, that wasn’t as clever as it sounded in my head… *lack of chocolate*
