…I think I need to see you around.

Okies, so I appologise about the lack of posts lately. It’s mainly just due to the fact that I don’t really have much to say. My life is boring! It’s also down to the fact that I’ve just been pretty busy doing pretty mundane things. In fact one of the most mundane things I’ve had to get round to doing was a complete reinstall of my machine. Unfortunately it’s currently sitting installing Vista on the smaller of my hard drives as I’ve no longer got my 2k disk and I could not for the life of me lay my hands on a 64bit version of XP. So, anyways, don’t worry, not abandoning the free software world merely installing it to play Sim City and GTA.

So, as a quick catch up.. No news on job, boss seemed pissed at me moving, should find out more on Monday, started using twitter again as it works for me again, have finally succumb to eating McDs again (damn), been on a Eureka fest and am now finished S1 and downloading S2, pissed at the writers still for making me miss Big Bang Theory on a Monday, Chuck is amazing, I’ve cleaned my room (!), I now have a nice little working space where laptop and desktop get along nicely, love my n95 still, night out again soon, the Chinese are everywhere! Not complaining…

So, seen as there is still not much going on in the life of me I’ve got a few songs that I’ve been rocking out to lately mainly courtesy of KMGX Phoenix (home of the ever eventful Michael Groff Show) and also the ever brilliant Last.fm.

The Last Goodnight (formerly Renata) are a rock band from Conneticut in the good ol’ USA. Pictures of You has previously been on iTunes’ Song of the Week The video plays off the name of the song with various pictures making up the whole picture of the video. Although I’m not sure I’d like a car covered in Polaroids.

Yellowcard - Ocean Avenue (Video)
There’s a piece of you that’s here with me
It’s everywhere I go, it’s everything I see
When I sleep, I dream and it gets me by
I can make believe that you’re here tonight

Yellowcard is a band from Florida but now in California who I’ve mentioned before as a favourite of mine. This song’s video has a quirky Groundhog Day-esque feel to it. The song is often mistakenly thought of to be about a girl but was in fact written about where they were from in Florida and missing the feeling of “hanging around.” It was there breakthrough single back in ‘03 but I’ve only just heard it now, so er, yeh!

Blessed Union of Souls - Hey Leonardo (Video)

Blessed Union of Souls is a rock band from Cincinnati and this song is 9 years old from 1999. Heard it on the radio, liked it. That’s about all there is to it

Matthew Ebel - Drive Away (Video)
Love was a word in a song and I took it for granted;

Matthew Ebel is a singer song writer who dontates a lot of his songs as “Podsafe”, which basically means that Podcasters can use them on their shows to promote the music without any complicating licensing and for free. He’s also a prolific live performer in Second Life (as you’ll see from the vid) and featured a fair few times on GeekBrief.tv, and that’s obviously where I heard it.

Everyone’s favourite Canadian pop-punk band are set to release their third album (Simple Plan) in January. This is the first single from it, just released and hence why there is no music video for it yet.
