..who loves more than who.. If you call then I will answer
So, it’s the start of December and that means the sleeps till Santa are coming down quite rapidly. It sucks, especially when you’re with someone who doesn’t celebrate Christmas or you have no kids and are miles from your family. Anyways, I’m trying to make myself that little bit more mistletoe flavoured by “rocking” to some Christmas tunes via the wonder that is SHOUTcast. Yes, there are stations that are playing Christmas hits non-stop 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Anyways, bits of news from me:
* Spent a day down at Heathrow a few weeks back with an ex-colleague of mine who took me out for dinner, again. I must see her more often, heh. Also managed to see every shop in 3 of the 4 terminals and meet with 2 of the store managers, hob nob and basically landed myself a job if I wanted it. However, after talking to my boss and area manager I’ve been advised it would be better to stay another six months in Liverpool for personal development reasons and also to project manage the new unit that will be opening airside circa March/April of ‘08. They said that they’d support me if I really wanted to go for the Heathrow designate job but that they’re personal opinion would be to stay for another six months. So, as they’re way more experienced than me and have seen the progression of many, many other managers like me I’m gonna take their advice and do that. So, I’m still a Scouser for another year. Go me! Also, my ex-boss is leaving the company, which will be a shame, he said I should go for Area counter selling champion, which he was. So, I might do.
* Petrol is way too expensive, it absolutely killed me last month :/
* I am in love with How I Met Your Mother. I want to have a circle of friends like that. I managed to actually one whole season in a day. It’s AWESOME! Chuck still rocks, but unless the writers get off their lazy arses and write some more I’m going to run out of new episodes in approx 4 weeks. Already ran out of Big Bang Theory episodes.
* I am being subjected to X-Factor way too loud from the lounge and the Internet radio keeps dropping out. Sucky.
Hinder - Better Than Me (Video)
I told myself I wouldn’t miss you
But I remembered
What it feels like beside you
I really miss your hair in my face
And the way your innocence tastes
Hinder, from Oaklahoma, cheesy rock really. Still, when you’re in one of them moods. It’s about breaking up etc. etc. We’ve all been there and had our hearts broken. Bitch! Thankfully the lead singer dude is not in this video, he’s not the best looking in the world.
Matchbox Twenty - All That I Need (VIdeo)
Everywhere someone’s getting over
Everybody’s lied to someone
People still use other people
With a crooked smile
All around the world
If these guys don’t come to the UK on their next tour I’m going to be seriously pissed. From the Live DVD “SHOW” it’s MB20. The song reminds me of another song and I really can’t put my finger on what it is. But, hey-ho! Sometimes things go wrong, sometimes they go right, but you should never give up is the moral of this story kiddies.
Reliant K - Faking My Own Suicide (“Video”
I’ll write you a letter that you’ll keep
Reminding you your love for me is more than six feet deep
You say aloud that you would have been my wife
Right about that time is when I come back to life
How cool would it be to fake your own suicide… Very, possibly. Based upon an old film. Anyways, fantastic song.
Collective Soul - Hollywood (Video)
Oh pretty pretty stars
Love to sparkle for you
You got that hip, long, laid-back, animated, groove attitude
Yeah Hollywood
You know I love you more than what I should
Collective Soul are a rock band from Georgia. Probably best known for the song “She Said” off the Scream 2 soundtrack. They’ve been going for years and generally release radio friendly sing a long songs. This is one. I don’t think I’d love Hollywood more than I should.
Lifehouse - Somewhere Only We Know (Video)
I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I’ve been dreaming of?
Sometimes a cover version is better than the original. I liked the Keane version of this, but I love this version. Maybe it’s because Lifehouse is one of my fave bands, maybe it’s because I love his voice or maybe it’s because it’s a live version and I always love a good live version. Anyways, it rocks greatly.
So, until I can be bothered to post again I will see y’all soon my donut ringed, jam filled people…
I think you can do much better than me
B
