Okay, so this is it. Episode 2. Here’s some random thoughts and oddities..
Mimi & Stanley are boring. She likes barcodes and order and tracking packages. She’s just the cutest thing ever. And could Stanley be *any* cuter? Probably not. Although I have to wonder, how did they not hear that helicopter? I loved how Mimi stood behind Stanley like a scared animal. Them two have good chemistry.
The president is going for a “one of the people” approach it seems?
A closeup of a clock, to show things are back to “normal”? Beck likes Jake’s uniform. Lanyards and credentials, it’s like the good ol’ days. The pres is the biggest bird in the west.. is that the bird Jake looks at? I’ve no idea what a Condor looks like!
Chavez and Hawkins are planning to uncover the truth, but unfortunately it means that Chavez will get burnt. So, tomorrow they’ll either be changing history in Texas… or DEAD!

How does Darcy’s looks not give away the fact she’s undercover? Hawkins needs to do a bit of DIY.

Wow, fantastic.. three of my least favourite characters in the same room, Grey, Emily and Boring Eric (© Hannah)… Where’s Hawkins with his bomb when you need him? The new government are re-writing the USA’s history with propaganda based history texts, how could they not see that coming? Seems J&R are behind it, the start of evidence against them? Grey seems pretty laid back about it, he’s no Johnston. Even Boring Eric is prepared to make a stand, or not.
Emily is flagged up.. And Alex Utley, security clearance A, “Modesto Bee” is introduced. Darcy so discreetly (!) snags a walkie talkie. And what a surprise it’s only Jake that notices, hand that man a medal.
The condor arrives, I love how the two soldiers give Jake the hand… He’s the SHERIFF, fools!
The one man army, known as Hawk, takes out half of the secret service without breaking into a sweat.
Journalists don’t exist anymore? Does that mean no more annoying stories about Amy Whorehouse? Oh, what’s that? Not real. God damn!
Another excuse to the absence of the real mayoress of the town and Boring Eric actually gets a little snarly with Grey. Why does every TV show in the world have a big plasma in the office that is just literally relaying the output of another computer. I’ve yet to see this in a real office, apart from lecture theatres of course. And the scrolling text… fucking garbage, at least make it look at least a little techie! Perhaps she is a superspy after all. Well done on blurting that out in front of a REPORTER, Jake!
Awww, poor Jake looked caught in the headlights after Chavez jumped him and Darcy looked guilty as sin.. Why does no one just look at people’s expressions?
Jake is so gullible, bless him.. “Someone doctored the results?” Yes. And Jake is now finally acting like the action hero we know and love. Yay.
As much as I love BonBon (and I do, dearly) was her “You can sign?”, in sign, question a little like saying “If you can’t hear me say no.”? I’m assuming that Stanley doesn’t want to track a UPS parcel full of Star Wars glasses that was lost before the blast.. I’m gonna go for Mimi’s family?
Was it just me or did anyone else think that the chant as the soldiers presented arms after Smarmy Pres gave Grey the flag that they were going to shout Power & Chaos? No? Just me? Fuck.
It seems that the tradition of waving silly little flags when politicians speak is carried over from the USA to the ASA (no, not the Advertising Standards Authority.) And the President tells the people what will become of this wonderful nation running from the Mississippi to the Pacific and everyone cheers, apart from Stanley, BonBon, Eric, Emily & Grey who feel the shots from the military display as shots through the heart of the country they once lived in… Yes, I sobbed a tear for the US, too.
I still don’t trust Chavez and I’m sure that phone isn’t really clean?
How obvious was it that it was going to be Ravenwood and more specifically Goetz that Valente would send? I certainly saw that coming, anyways..
All in all a good ep. 0 screen time for Heather was a pisser. More BonBon, please.
